Lloyds Living Expands Build-to-Rent Portfolio with Suffolk Development
Lloyds Living, the private rental arm of Lloyds Banking Group, is set to offer over 100 new homes for rent in Sudbury, Suffolk as part of a collaboration with housebuilder Taylor Wimpey. This marks a significant addition to the company’s Build-to-Rent portfolio, which already includes more than 5,000 homes across the UK.
The Chilton Woods Project
- Development Size: Lloyds Living has acquired 107 homes from Taylor Wimpey’s larger 1,150-home Chilton Woods scheme.
- Completion Timeline: The first rental homes are expected to be ready by late 2025.
- Home Types: The properties will include two, three, and four-bedroom houses.
Focus on Energy Efficiency
A standout feature of the Chilton Woods homes is their sustainability focus, with all 107 properties connected to a centralised air source heat pump system, ensuring improved energy efficiency for tenants.
Partnership with Taylor Wimpey
This project represents the first collaboration between Lloyds Living and Taylor Wimpey in the private rental sector.
Andy Hutchinson, CEO of Lloyds Living, highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating:
“We are very pleased to be working with Taylor Wimpey for the first time at Chilton Woods, which is regenerating the area to the benefit of the local community in Sudbury. Chilton Woods is an ideal fit for Lloyds Living, bringing forward high-quality rental homes in a desirable but under-served location.”
He also emphasised the benefits of the improved energy efficiency for future tenants.
Chilton Woods: A Regeneration Project
The development aims to enhance the Sudbury area by providing high-quality homes in a region where rental housing options are currently limited. With this expansion, Lloyds Living reinforces its commitment to delivering modern, sustainable, and desirable rental homes across the UK.
