Landlords frustrated with slow response times and security processes when calling HMRC will soon benefit from a voice recognition system designed to speed up security checks. The system, already used by banks, will convert callers’ voices into encrypted biometric data, allowing for faster and more secure verification.
HMRC has faced significant criticism for long wait times and inefficiencies in handling taxpayer calls. The new system is set to be introduced across HMRC services during 2025 as part of a broader effort to improve customer service and streamline interactions.
