The Guardian reported research by Dataloft showing that four in 10 renters under 30 are subject to tenancy agreements for which the rent exceeds 30 per cent of their pay. Although London has the highest rent levels in Great Britain, in places such as Rotherham, Bolton, Salford, Walsall and Dudley affordability is the worst for young people since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
